instructional spice June 5, 2008

Filed under: new and cool — jj @ 9:33 am

I’m always looking for ways to use flash without having to actually LEARN flash, so I was intrigued when I came across Instructional Spice an online service that provides customizable flash activities. Some are free, others only available for members who pay $49 a month. Cool that it’s a monthly thing so I might join for a month and see if it’s worthwhile.  A flash activity – especially one I that can be tweaked and used in more than one course- is worth at LEAST $49 I’d say!

Just ran across a company, NineHub, who are offering free moodle hosting. I’m not sure what the catch is… and there’s always a catch, right?! but it might be worth looking into if you want a non-work moodle site to play with.  http://ninehub.com/

Had popcorn, rode rides, played games, chatted with colleagues, visited booths, interacted with exhibits and rode a horse-drawn carriage. It was all good.

I’ve just downloaded eXe, an open source eLearning authoring tool, and will report back when I’ve had a chance to play with it. Anyone else tried it?

It looks interesting- and open source is always worth looking into, in my opinion…

Animations can make your courses and your presentations come alive. And you don’t have to learn flash – you can make simple animations right within Powerpoint. The Rapid eLearning Blog  has some great ideas- and a tutorial on making simple animations in PPT. Check it out!

Jott is fabulous… January 11, 2008

Filed under: random musings — jj @ 1:41 pm

Jott is fabulous. It allows you to talk and it will transcribe what you say and post it to something like your blog or to someone’s e-mail or text it to someone’s phone. It’s a great tool. If you haven’t checked it out you should.

I posted this by calling and talking- and jott transcribed what I said and posted it here for me. Wonderful!

Want to listen to my exciting phone call??
